Read Isaiah 7:14 & Luke 1:31-33 & Matthew 1:22-23

Isaiah 7:14

Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Look, the young woman is with child and shall bear a son, and shall name him Immanuel.

Luke 1:31-33

And now, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give to him the throne of his ancestor David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of his kingdom there will be no end.”

Matthew 1:22-23

All this took place to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet:

“Look, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son,
and they shall name him Emmanuel,”

which means, “God is with us.”

Say Together:

God is with us.

Talk About:

From the beginning of Creation, God wanted to be with us. We couldn’t get to God on our own, so God sent us Himself, as Emmanuel, into our world. How have you found God With Us during this Advent season? What other parts of your life do you need God to move in and bring new life to?

Pray:

O Emmanuel, our King and Giver of Law: come to save us, Lord our God!
Amen.
