The 4pm Sunday Contemplative Mass

“Mother Church earnestly desires that all the faithful should be led to that fully conscious, and active participation in liturgical celebrations which is demanded by the very nature of the liturgy.” (Constitution on the Sacred Liturgy, Sacrosanctum Concilium, paragraph 14)

“…Steps should be taken so that the faithful may also be able to say or sing together in Latin those parts of the Ordinary of the Mass which pertain to them.” (Sacrosanctum Concilium, paragraph 54)

Our goal with this new Mass is to provide an experience of Mass which better expresses the transcendent, sacred and contemplative vision of the Liturgy to captivate those who feel called to pray in a different way than what our parish currently offers.

We believe that the more postmodern and secular our culture becomes, the more people will be touched by the sacred and silence which the world does not provide.

At the 4pm Sunday Contemplative Mass, you can expect:

  • Before Mass, we’ll have softer lighting and an organ prelude
  • Incense with the procession, as well as throughout Mass
  • The Gloria will be sung in Latin, and the Collect prayer will be chanted in English
  • The Memorial Acclamation, Doxology, Pater Noster, and Agnus Dei will all be sung in Latin
  • Prayerful chant during Communion

Join us on every Sunday at 4pm to experience this unique and prayerful Contemplative Mass.
