‘Moms Love Coffee’ is a group that has recently resumed, and it is for the moms of Saint Benedict Parish. The group is intended to simply offer an opportunity for moms to get together and connect with other moms.

Rissa Perera, a new mother, organizes the group at the parish. In connecting with Rissa, she shared what the group can offer: “I was the first one out of all my friends to have a baby. It felt a little lonely at times, and I was wanting to connect with other moms, to make friends with women who were in the same stage of life as me. I felt the Lord's small voice telling me I should get some women together, but I wasn't sure how. After some time and more discernment, I felt it was God's call for me to start this moms' ministry again at Saint Benedict.”

Who is the group intended for?
Moms of any age, with children of any age. Any mom and all moms are welcome.

Do moms bring their children as well?
Yes! There are plenty of toys for them to play with.

Where and when does the group meet?
The group meets in-person every Wednesday at the parish, from 10:30am- 12pm, downstairs in the auditorium

What is the structure of the group?
The group recently just hosted their first gathering, and it is quite casual. The time together is primarily social. There is also coffee and tea provided, with the occasional snack. As the group continues to grow, the intention is to have a faith aspect where moms can share in their motherly spiritual journey together.

How do Moms join the group if they are interested?
There is no registration, or any prerequisites to join. The doors are open and you can just walk in!

‘Moms Love Coffee’ is a wonderful opportunity for women in the parish to connect with each other. If you’re a mom or know of a mom that would benefit from time together, please drop in this coming Wednesday! The group would love to meet you and your kids!
